Pohutukawa Smoked Angus Beef Bacon – Halal Suitable


Zaroa NZ is a new start-up created by Master of Meats Wilhelm Zabern, a Master Butcher from Austria who has been living in New Zealand for over 30 years. Moving away from pork, the Master Crafted Artisan Meat products are made from 100% grass fed free range New Zealand beef, lamb and venison.


Zaroa Artisan Meats has created a Pork Free BEEF Bacon utilizing Kaipara farmed Beef that is deliciously rich in flavour.

Using the traditional dry-curing method, they took various Beef cuts and smoked them with Pohutukawa. They then created a natural marinade using organic sea salt, vinegar and hot smoke as a way to preserve the Beef meat. Free of artificial preservatives, Zaroa has achieved great results. Convenient, ready to heat, ready to eat meat.

Beef, Purified Water, Organic Sea Salt, Spice and Spice Extract, Vinegar, Pohutukawa Smoke.

Halal Suitable and 100% Natural Ingredients Used:

  • No artificial chemical ingredients, colouring, flavours, or preservatives.
  • No sodium nitrates or sodium nitrites.
  • No Gluten. No Soy.

Keep refrigerated between 1-4° degrees. Unopened the sausages will have a 4-week shelf life. Can be frozen for 6 months. Once opened, eat within 4 days. Store leftovers in a container not in plastic wrap.

  • Cooking: Zaroa NZ Bacon is best cooked by frying in a pan for 2 minutes on each side, or until your preferred crispiness.
